Four years old.

Tomorrow will mark the fourth birthday of SCHOOME.

A lot has happened in those four years.

In recent times a LARGE number of people have downloaded the first 15% of the book [as an ebook] and the two copies that are in our local library system have been constantly on loan. So, a lot of people have read part, or all of the book.

It would have been nice if a few more people had paid for the book, but you cannot have everything.

I worked out that if I live to be one hundred and seventeen, the book will have paid for itself at the present rate of sales!

Seriously, I’m pleased that my first book has found an audience. I hope that it has encouraged you if you have read it, and I hope that you have had as big an adventure as we had.

Happy Third Birthday.

 

Three years ago SCHOOME was born, which is a coincidence because it took about that long from beginning to end for it to come into being.

It started out as a means of not forgetting all the little stories from our adventure, but it quickly became the book that we wished had been around when we started to home school our two boys.

We hoped that we were [I say we, but it was mostly me] writing a book that would give others the confidence to take the plunge.

We have sold a few copies along the way and given a few talks on the subject.

There are copies of the book at two different libraries and they have been continuously on loan, which is pretty cool.

If you are wondering if the project has paid for itself the answer is “not even close.”

SCHOOME has it’s own website but in recent times WordPress has become its home.
